AUBURN HILLS -- The Detroit Pistons picked the old guy in the NBA draft and didn't think twice about it.
Michael Gbinije, 24, said there are pros to being the elder statesman of the incoming rookie class after the Pistons nabbed him at No. 49 overall in the second round.
"You know, you learn more," the combination guard told reporters in New York late Thursday. "You know more going into it, battle-tested, had to deal with adversity throughout my whole college career. That's the bright side of it. Obviously, you know, it's a young man's draft. But I'm just looking forward to using my wisdom and experience.
