White, Holmes hope their versatility convinces Pistons to grab them with pick at 38

No lottery candidates in Auburn Hills this time around, but two guys who figure to have a legitimate shot at being their pick at 38 in the second round: Aaron White and Jonathan Holmes.

They have more in common than that, too. Both are four-year college players from major conferences, White the Big Ten and Holmes the Big 12. Both met with the Pistons at last month’s NBA draft combine in Chicago. Both are probably best suited to power forward but both show enough versatility to slide to small forward, too. Neither shoots the 3-pointer well enough to qualify as an NBA stretch four just yet – and if they did, they more than likely would be ticketed for the first round, anyway.
