Like Michael Beasley before him, and Tracy McGrady before him, and Allen Iverson before him, the recent addition of Joe Johnson to the Detroit Pistons continues the team’s trend of filling out their roster with at least one recognizable star.
The Detroit Pistons are no stranger to sprinkling their roster with players signed five years after their signings would have been remotely helpful. With Derrick Rose, the recently-cut Beasley, and the recent signing of Johnson, that trend seems to be especially in force this offseason.
There’s some joke here about the Motor City keeping motors running, but I’m too old and washed up to find it.
