The Pistons ushered in a new era Monday with the introduction of new general manager Troy Weaver.
Pistons team owner Tom Gores, vice chairman Arn Tellem, senior adviser Ed Stefanski and head coach Dwane Casey helped welcome Weaver, 52, who had been with the Oklahoma City Thunder for 12 years, as the vice president of basketball operations and assistant general manager.
Weaver will guide the Pistons’ day-to-day operations and one of his first orders of business will be assembling the remainder of his staff, which will include adding at least one new assistant general manager, after the departure of Malik Rose.
