More than 6,500 votes were cast in the first round of the inaugural #PistonsTwitter Bracket Challenge. This form of March Madness pitted 64 of the best minds on Twitter writing, arguing and following the Detroit Pistons into a single-elimination tournament.
Eventually, one person will be crowned the champion of Pistons Twitter.
Yeah — there were bumps along the way. There was rank corruption and collusion in creating the bracket and a lot of self-dealing between the committee (me) and entrants (also me).
The seeding was criticized as rank amateurism yet somehow only featured six upsets in the first 32 games.
