Sekou Doumbouya stole the hearts of Detroit Pistons fans soon after being drafted with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Doumbouya rewarded that unrequited love with a two-week stretch that began with his first NBA start on Jan. 2.
During the 14-day run, Doumbouya averaged 14.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1 steal a game. Even more impressive, he was doing it efficiently; shooting 54.4% from the field, 41.1% from downtown, with a true shooting percentage of 58.1%.
On top of that, Doumbouya did this against some the premier wings in the NBA, such as LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Draymond Green, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown.
