So when the Pistons were in the throes of tough times in Dwane Casey’s first season, owner Tom Gores gathered them to impart his experiences in life and in business. There’s a common truth to both, he’s learned.
“You can’t worry about the result,” he told the Pistons at a team meeting he hosted at his Platinum Equity headquarters. “Do the work.”
The meeting came at mid-season while the Pistons were in Los Angeles.
