CLEVELAND -- Stan Van Gundy called it "disappointing" tonight that the Detroit Pistons had to rescind the trade that brought them Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton from the Houston Rockets in a three-team deal.
"It's disappointing because we saw the possibilities," Van Gundy, the Pistons' president of basketball operations and head coach, said. "But I would do it over again, if it were out there. We did our due diligence and just thought there was too much risk."
Motiejunas, who accompanied the Pistons on the trip here for a game tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers, did not pass his physical examinations conducted by the club in both New York and Detroit.
