There's LeBron James. It's the Eastern Conference. What's not to like about the chance to run the Cleveland Cavaliers?
For Chauncey Billups, it may have had a little to do with money.
According to ESPN, Billups was lowballed by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert when it came to a salary offer, something in the $1.5 million year range. The role of president of basketball operations generally pays around $4 million annually.
David Griffin previously held GM job in Cleveland and was among the league's lowest paid, at less than $2 million, according to ESPN.
Billups withdrew his name from consideration earlier this week.
