An athletic forward and oop-tossing guard highlight the Drive's draft class
The Grand Rapids Drive, the Pistons' D-League affiliate, are rounding their roster into form after the NBA D-League Draft Saturday.
Grand Rapids selected Ohio State forward Sam Thompson with the seventh overall pick, and made four more selections throughout the afternoon.
The 22-year-old Thompson is an athletic small forward who will play tough defense, finish at the rim and launch the occasional three for the Drive. He was second on the Buckeyes' roster with 10.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game as a senior.
