A new, surprising name has surfaced in the Detroit Pistons' coaching search.
According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, the Pistons plan to interview Kenny Smith, a studio analyst for TNT, for the position.
Smith, 53, has no coaching experience. He played 10 years in the NBA from 1987 to 1997 with Sacramento, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit (nine games in 1996-97), Orlando and Denver.
The point guard from North Carolina won championships with the Rockets in 1994 and 1995.
