The Detroit Pistons have elected not to extend a qualifying offer to Jordan Bone, a 2019 second-round pick and two-way player, who spent most of his time in the organization with the Grand Rapids Drive.
Bone will become an unrestricted free agent. The news was first reported by James Edwards of The Athletic.
The high-flying guard was a developmental play by Ed Stefanski and the Pistons regime with the hope he could capitalize on his speed and quick burst to become a change-of-pace reserve point guard. Unfortunately, he could not make it through the transition phase of Troy Weaver taking over as the key basketball decision maker in Detroit.
