Another NBA team has its eyes set on a member of Stan Van Gundy's staff.
Detroit Pistons associate general manager Pat Garrity has emerged as a candidate to take over as general manager and president basketball operations for the Orlando Magic, ESPN's Marc Stein reported Saturday.
Stein, citing unidentified league sources, reports Magic general manager Rob Hennigan is likely to be fired at season's end, creating an opening at the top in Orlando.
How that impacts first-year coach Frank Vogel remains to be seen, but Stein speculates Doc Rivers - with two seasons remaining on his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers - could eventually make a return to Orlando.
