Report: Killian Hayes has labral tear in hip

Detroit Pistons rookie Killian Hayes has a labral tear in his hip, according to Shams Sharania of The Athletic. The injury was sustained as Hayes attempted to run down the floor in transition and took an awkward stride reaching for the ball against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.

There is no official timetable for his recovery or word from the team at this point. There is no sugar coating that this is a bad injury and puts some key phases of Hayes’ development for this season and the offseason in jeopardy. He’s almost certainly not going to play again this year and a potential six-month recovery window puts next Summer League in question as well.
