Just as Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy feared, veteran backup point guard Beno Udrih is officially done for the season.
The 34-year-old has been diagnosed with a knee sprain and will miss the final two games of the 2016-17 regular season, according to Pistons.com editor Kevin Langlois.
Udrih will be recovering from the injury for the next six to eight weeks:
Udrih suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of the Pistons’ 103-90 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
Langlois explained that Van Gundy intends to Darrun Hilliard as the “quasi-backup point guard” in their match-up against the Washington Wizards tonight.
