Reggie Jackson to resume basketball activities

Things are progressing normally for injured point guard Reggie Jackson, and sometimes that is the best news of all.

The latest development for the Detroit Pistons starter is that he is ready to resume basketball activities starting today.

Four weeks ago Jackson received platelet-rich plasma injections to treat left knee tendonitis and a bothersome sprained right thumb. The original timetable was for him to miss 6-8 weeks.

Behind the mostly strong play of Ish Smith, the Pistons have held their own in Jackson’s absence, running out to a 4-2 start to the season. The team begins a four-game Western Conference road trip tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers.
