AUBURN HILLS - Despite being built around big men Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin, the Detroit Pistons will play a lot of small ball under new coach Dwane Casey.
Casey had three guards on the floor frequently, including at the start, in the season-opening 103-100 victory Wednesday over the Brooklyn Nets.
"I thought Ish (Smith) and Reggie (Jackson) together gave us a different pick and roll look," Casey said. "There were opportunities to have multiple pick and rolls and two attackers.
"But we have to do a better job defensively, both of them, because they were going against two points guards in (Spencer) Dinwiddie and (D'Angelo) Russell.
