The Pistons came out of the gate sluggish and uninterested in playing basketball, trialing by as many as 12 within the first few minutes.
Fortunately, for at least a bit anyway, both the Nets and Pistons collectively decided that no defense would be played and the Nets halftime 70-68 lead was all the evidence you needed.
Detroit’s bench amassed 44 points from its five bench players in the first half. Reggie Jackson’s efficient half of 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting paced Detroit.
