Friday evening the Pistons battled with a young Dallas Mavericks team in full-blown tank mode and came through with an overtime victory, 113-106. I don’t quite know what to tell you, but the game really shouldn’t have been so competitive. For much of the fourth quarter the Mavs went with third-string point guard Kyle Collinsworth, rookie Jalen Jones (who had played just three seconds in the first three quarters), Dorian Finney-Smith, two-way contract forward Johnathan Motley and newly signed Aaron Harrison (aka the less talented Harrison twin). The group played tough and smart basketball, actually outscoring Detroit by three in the frame.
