Detroit — For the first time in three years, the Pistons will start the regular season away from Little Caesars Arena — and somewhere known for its glamorous weather.
The Pistons will open the 2023-24 season with a road trip on Oct. 25 against the Miami Heat, the defending Eastern Conference champions, the NBA announced on Thursday. The game marks the first road opener for the Pistons since the 2020-21 season, when they visited the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It's a formidable challenge for the re-tooled Pistons, who return a youthful roster, featuring Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson — the athletic, playmaking-wing drafted with the fifth pick in June's draft.
