DETROIT - It was a game that provided the best evidence yet on why the Detroit Pistons must be patient with Stanley Johnson.
The third-year forward and former eighth overall draft pick has been talked about as potential trade bait due to his slow growth and offensive struggles.
Johnson flashed his potential on Tuesday, going head-to-head against the best player in the NBA for much of the night and helping the Pistons end an eight-game slide. He scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 124-115 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Little Caesars Arena.
