Pistons' Reggie Jackson out again and his benching is solely SVG's call

AUBURN HILLS -- Reggie Jackson remains out of the Detroit Pistons' lineup for a critical game tonight against the Miami Heat, and whether the point guard returns this season is solely president-coach Stan Van Gundy's decision.

That Jackson will sit out again tonight illustrates how out of sorts he has been for much of this season as effects of a knee ailment linger.

Van Gundy called tonight's game as important a regular-season game as he ever has coached. Yet Ish Smith will start at point, backed up by Beno Udrih.

"It's been my call all the way," Van Gundy said.
