The Detroit Pistons have hired Bernard Condevaux as medical director and Jim Scholler as head athletic trainer, the team announced Wednesday.
According to the Pistons, Condevaux's responsibilities will include overseeing and directing the organization's medical team, performance staffing, nutrition and sports science efforts to ensure long-term player health.
Condevaux is a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties with 20 years of management experience in outpatient orthopedics. He has worked as a therapy consultant for the Colorado Rockies (1993-2000) and Colorado Avalanche (1995-2003). He has also worked with a wide variety of professional athletes from the WNBA, LPGA, NASCAR, wrestling, running and figure skating.
