Pistons likely shorthanded in preseason opener

Auburn Hills — Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy won't have his full roster — and will be particularly thin at point guard — for Tuesday's preseason opener against the Pacers at The Palace.

Van Gundy said Reggie Jackson, who suffered a bruised thigh on Friday in practice, likely won't play because of Achilles soreness. Jackson, along with Adonis Thomas (Achilles soreness), will have an MRI later Monday as a precaution.

Steve Blake (concussion) will remain out "for a while, still" as he continues to go through the protocols before his return.

Aron Baynes (ankle) practiced Monday, which Van Gundy called a step forward, but didn't finish practice.
