Pistons explain empty seats for LCA opener

AUBURN HILLS - Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy has talked about the home-court advantage Little Caesars Arena can provide due to its large and steep lower bowl and proximity of fans to the court.

The building has the potential to be loud.

But the seats must be filled. They were not close to capacity in Wednesday's season-opening 102-90 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

The game was announced as a sellout, with 20,491 in attendance. But there were many empty seats at tip-off and especially as the game progressed.
