DETROIT - The Detroit Pistons, in four preseason games, are averaging more 3-point attempts than they did last season but also sinking fewer.
Coach Dwane Casey isn't discouraged or deterred. He's sticking to his plan of having this team launch a lot of threes, finish at the rim and limit the mid-range shots.
"I know everyone is looking and saying you shoot so many threes, but they will fall, I promise you," Casey said following Wednesday's 102-97 exhibition loss to the Washington Wizards at Little Caesars Arena.
The Pistons are averaging nearly 40 3-point attempts per game, compared to 29 last season.
