ANN ARBOR - The thought of Andre Drummond launching 3-point shots in a game sounds absurd.
The 6-11 center for the Detroit Pistons went 0 for 11 from beyond the arc last season and has made only 5-of-30 3-pointers in six years.
But he practiced his 3-point shot extensively this summer, and before anybody dismisses it as a waste of time, consider that he worked on his free-throw shooting last off-season, when the career 38-percent shooter improved to 61 percent from the line in 2017-18.

New coach Dwane Casey will rely heavily on the 3-point shot and has given Drummond the green light to heave when open.
