A trip to Africa for a Basketball Without Borders event fulfilled a lifelong dream for Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond and his mother, Christine Cameron.
They talked about making the journey years ago when Drummond was a kid and it became a reality when he was named the World Team for the NBA Africa Game. Drummond's mother accompanied him to Johannesburg, South Africa, site of Saturday's game.
While Drummond has enjoyed practicing with fellow NBA stars such as Dirk Nowitzki, Kemba Walker and DeMarcus Cousins, some of the things he's seen away from the court have disturbed the Pistons' 23-year-old franchise player.
