With rumors of Detroit open to trading the No. 8 selection, let's examine how often this maneuver works out.
According to "draft guru" Chad Ford (and other sources now), the Pistons are open to trading the No. 8 pick in this year's draft for a player who can contribute now and "accelerate the rebuild". My feelings on this are strongly anti-trade the pick, because, if you saw Steve's article on potential trades, well...bleurgh. But, anyway, let's take a stroll down draft memory lane and examine all draft-day trades since 2005.
Note: Only the trades involving first round picks from the draft of that year are listed.
