Morris wakes up with a stiff back, but won’t miss rematch with Markieff, Suns

It looks like the Pistons will field the same starting lineup in Game 19 that they have through the first 18. Marcus Morris woke up with stiffness in his lower back and sat through shootaround for tonight’s game with Phoenix, but he left zero doubt he’d be in the starting lineup for the return match with twin brother Markieff and the Suns.

“It’s good,” he said this morning. Asked what it would take to keep him in street clothes, he said, “probably couldn’t walk.”

It turns out Morris got hurt by friendly fire. Andre Drummond wasn’t aware it was his teammate when he stuck out a forearm in pursuit of a defensive rebound and Morris’ back suffered the consequences.
