AUBURN HILLS -- The Detroit Pistons have selected Michael Gbinije of Syracuse in the second round of the NBA draft.
The Pistons used the No. 49 overall pick on the shooting guard, who began his college career with a single season at Duke University and the idea of being a one-and-done player.
Gbinije was a fifth-year senior last season at Syracuse and averaged 17.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.9 steals and shot 39.2 percent on 3-pointers.
The Pistons earlier selected Marquette power forward Henry Ellenson with the No. 18 overall pick in the first round.
