Luke Kennard is closer to returning to action for the Detroit Pistons. The club on Thursday assigned the second-year guard to the G League Grand Rapids Drive.
Kennard has missed 14 games after suffering an AC join sprain in his right shoulder against Cleveland on Oct. 25, when he ran into a pick by Channing Frye.
The Drive host the Lakeland Magic on Friday.
The Pistons (11-7) have a pair of home games this weekend, facing Chicago Friday and Golden State on Saturday.
Kennard has appeared in only three games this season, averaging 5.7 points, 1.
