AUBURN HILLS - Stan Van Gundy has an affinity for the underdog - unheralded, undrafted players who worked hard to reach the NBA and must battle to stay in the league.
It helps if they can play, too, and with Langston Galloway and Eric Moreland, the Detroit Pistons coach feels he acquired a pair of free agents with a combination of will and skill.
"The top thing on our list was the character and competitiveness and then there were certain skills we were looking for," Van Gundy said. "But I've always liked the guys who have had it difficult, who've had challenges coming up.
