Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was initially charged with OWI, but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of allowing a person to drive under the influence at his court hearing in May.
According the Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, KCP pleaded guily to that charge in addition to a charge of careless driving, but was off the hook for the OWI.
The Pistons shooting guard becomes a restricted free agent this offseason. He will now be subject to the NBA’s substance abuse policy after its own investigation of the case concludes.
