The Detroit Pistons kick off Summer League action in Las Vegas tonight at 7 p.m. but in addition to being without last year’s first-round pick they will also not see Keenan Evans who was recently signed to a two-way contract after going undrafted out of Texas Tech.
The reason Evans was likely undrafted in spite of a quality four-year career that saw his Red Raiders reach the Sweet 16 is because of a toe injury he suffered in February.
Evans played through the pain into the tournament with surgery soon afterward. A quick Google search doesn’t lead me to any indication that Evans was able to work out with teams and he did not attend the NBA Draft Combine.
