Atlanta — The Atlanta Hawks’ next general manager will have total authority of personnel decisions following moves on Friday which dismantled the two-tier management team of Mike Budenholzer and Wes Wilcox.
And that next general manager could be a familiar name for Detroit sports fans. Joe Dumars, the former Pistons star and later the front-office chief who built a roster that won the franchise’s third championship, is expected to be in the mix, ESPN’s Marc Stein reported Friday.
League sources say Joe Dumars and David Griffin are expected to emerge as candidates in the Hawks' search for a new lead front-office voice

Dumars was named Pistons president in 2000, before he stepped down in 2014.
