CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Detroit Pistons still have a half to play some defense tonight.
They haven't done much of it yet.
The Charlotte Hornets have built a 62-51 halftime lead at Time Warner Cable Arena, the most points scored against the Pistons in the first half of a game this season. The previous high was 61 by Sacramento on Nov. 11.
Ball protection and rebounding have been essential.
The Hornets have committed only three turnovers and Detroit has not scored off any of them. The Pistons have committed six turnovers, which the Hornets turned into 11 points.
