Eastwood, the labrador known for being the last one left at a Northern Michigan animal shelter, will go home with the family of Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy on Tuesday, May 9.
The 1-year-old red-coated lab was the only dog left behind at the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Harbor Springs after the statewide "Empty the Shelters" adoption event. The Van Gundy family heard about the event that found homes for more than 1,5000 animals, but missed out on making it.

Once word of Eastwood's story started to make the rounds, the Van Gundy family "knew he was their dog.
