Drummond scores 23 as Detroit Pistons demolish Hawks 124-109

For the first time this season, the Detroit Pistons had a lead at the end of the first quarter. And that’s when they put the game out of reach.

Thanks to a 40-20 advantage after the opening period, the Pistons (6-5) cruised to a 124-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks (3-9) at State Farm Arena on Friday night. Andre Drummond finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Detroit came out firing on all cylinders. Reggie Jackson (10 points, three assists) nailed a left-corner triple to open the scoring. Drummond then added a layup, which was followed by a Reggie Bullock (13 points, four assists) 3-pointer on the ensuing possession.
