Detroit Pistons’ Willie Reed suspended six games for domestic violence incident

Willie Reed, a reserve center acquired by the Detroit Pistons in the recent blockbuster Blake Griffin trade, has been suspended for six games by the NBA stemming from a domestic violence incident involving his wife.

The NBA Players Association says it plans to appeal the suspension without pay, calling it “excessive and inappropriate,” according to the Detroit Free Press.

Reed was charged with a misdemeanor after an August incident with his wife in Miami, where his wife reportedly told police he dragged her across their apartment, pulled her hair and grabbed her by the wrist, according to media reports.
