After trading away their best wing shooter, The Detroit Pistons were in need of another wing player than can shoot at a high level. Someone who could make 3 or 4 threes a night on high-efficiency.
The team did the right thing and signed Wayne Ellington off waivers. Many teams were interested in Ellington. A career 38 percent three-point shooter, Ellington brings a high level of shooting to the table. Teams like Philadelphia, Golden State, and other contenders were extremely interested in signing him.
Ellington ultimately ended up choosing the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons may have appealed him the most due to the fact that he will immediately become their best wing player.
