Detroit Pistons Rookie Darrun Hilliard Has Surgery on Broken Nose

Detroit Pistons rookie Shooting Guard Darrun Hilliard had successful surgery after breaking his nose. The second round pick broke his nose playing pickup basketball last week.

He will be fitted with a mask that will be worn for the next three weeks as he prepares for training camp and the team reports the injury will not keep him from any basketball-related activities.

We are exactly two weeks away from the first pre season game where the Pistons are at home to the Indiana Pacers.

Selected with the 38th pick, Stan Van Gundy rejected the option of moving down in the second round and getting an additional future second round pick to ensure he didn’t miss the player he rated in his top 25 overall.
