The Detroit Pistons have signed a new coach, drafted two more first-round picks and traded for Joe Harris and Monte Morris.
It’s not the dream offseason some fans were hoping for, but they added some talent and did so without sacrificing any future financial flexibility. I know financial pragmatism is not sexy, but that doesn’t mean these moves were bad.
These transactions may win over Tom Gores’ accountant (who is probably asking him who Dewayne Dedmon is) but are hardly exciting for fans who are sick of losing.

But at least Troy Weaver didn’t go out and sign another draft bust that he hopes will be good if he just has a change of scenery….
