The Detroit Pistons have hired Ed Stefanski as a senior advisor, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Wojnarowski also reports that Stefanski will now lead the organization’s search for a new president of basketball operations and head coach.
The 64-year-old previously served as the general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers from 2007 to 2011. He was then brought in by the Toronto Raptors to be the executive vice president of basketball operations in 2011; a position he held until 2013.
Stefanski’s most recent gig with the Memphis Grizzlies began in 2014, when he was named the vice president of player personnel.
