Ersan Ilyasova had to miss the Detroit Pistons team bonding event held by players in Las Vegas, but for good reason– he’s in Berlin right now leading the Turkish National team in Eurobasket 2015.
His first game was a thriller against Italy and Danilo Gallinari.
Ilyasova started the game red-hot hitting his first four baskets before getting into early foul trouble according to EuroBasket’s official site. After cooling off a bit due to foul trouble, Ilyasova found his way to the rim for the go-ahead basket with 45 seconds remaining.
Turkey would end up winning the game 89-87 after Italy’s Marco Belinelli missed a half-court shot at the buzzer.
