AUBURN HILLS - With his team reeling and Reggie Jackson still weeks away from returning from an ankle injury, Detroit Pistons coach Stan Gundy is trying to sort out his starting point guard conundrum.
Ish Smith started the first 12 games in Jackson's absence averaged 12.8 points, shooting 44.8 percent, and 4.9 assists. But Van Gundy would prefer Smith bring energy off the bench and play with the second unit.
That's why he started Langston Galloway at the point Wednesday against Utah. That didn't work well, as Galloway had five points (2 for 7) and four assists in 20 minutes in a 98-95 overtime loss.
