The Detroit Pistons will begin training camp next week, but will be without one of their newest additions, Danny Granger, who was brought in as an extra in the Marcus Morris trade.

“I think it’s better for him and for us if he stays right there in Arizona and does his rehab and when he gets to a point that he’s ready to play and compete, then we will bring him in. For his sake, I had too much respect for him to be sitting on the side and doing nothing and just being here because he has to and then for our team it becomes a distraction a when-is-he-going-to-play type of thing.
