The Detroit Pistons have converted Dwight Buycks to a standard contract from the two-way deal he signed in the off-season.
Buycks has filled in well as the back-up point guard to Ish Smith after Reggie Jackson suffered a sprained ankle on Dec. 26, which will idle him until mid-February.
He scored a career-high 17 points in Wednesday's 114-80 victory in Brooklyn. He has scored in double figure in four of the past five games, averaging 13.2 points during that stretch, shooting 52.1 percent (25 for 48).
For the season, Buycks is averaging 8.8 points and 2.
