Current and former Detroit Pistons swayed Monroe to Bucks

When Greg Monroe left the Detroit Pistons in free agency, he spurned the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a surprising move to say the least.

Apparently, Monroe was persuaded by former and current Pistons players who played in Milwaukee.

What also swayed Monroe toward Milwaukee were conversations with former Pistons teammates who played for the Bucks, including Caron Butler, Brandon Jennings and Brandon Knight. Middleton was Monroe’s teammate in Detroit during the 2012-13 season and has remained so close that Monroe shared Thanksgiving dinner last year when Milwaukee was in town to play the Pistons.
