Auburn Hills — The Pistons added another big piece to the puzzle.
He’s not a starter, but 7-foot-3 center Boban Marjanovic is a big piece, nonetheless.
Marjanovic was with the Spurs last season as a backup to LaMarcus Aldridge. But when Marjanovic became a restricted free agent, the Pistons jumped at the opportunity to add him to their roster. They signed him to an offer sheet for three years, $21 million and the Spurs didn’t match, rescinding their rights Sunday and sending Marjanovic to the Pistons.
Marjanovic becomes the second-tallest Pistons player ever, behind Chuck Nevitt, who was 7-5 and played from 1985-88.
